Ranchi: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha, aged 86, is gearing up for another political stint. He has decided to form a new political party, named ‘Atal Vichar Manch,’ following a meeting with his supporters in Hazaribag. This move comes after his reduced activity in Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, where he joined in 2021. Recently, Sinha opposed BJP’s candidate Manish Jayaswal in the Hazaribag Lok Sabha elections, supporting Congress candidate Jayprakash Patel instead. Despite Patel’s defeat, Sinha’s stance led several BJP leaders in Hazaribag to leave the party. Sinha is now preparing for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, possibly fielding candidates from his new party. His previous political roles include serving as Finance and Foreign Minister under Chandra Shekhar and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In 2014, BJP replaced Sinha with his son Jayant Sinha, prompting Sinha to retire, but he re-emerged in 2020, creating a party named ‘Bharatiya Sab Log Party.’ For updates and discussions on political developments, including political news, stay tuned.
