Mickael Landreau is a 28-year old goalkeeper currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain. He is considered as the third Keller Casey Jersey goalkeeper for the French national squad, called up as backup in the case of injuries to either Coupet or Frey. One day, when Coupet decides to step down, Landreau will probably challenge Frey for the Number 1 jersey. In total, Landreau has played 11 games for Les Blues. His qualities are good reflexes, a strong, determined and influential character, and safe hands. He is known for his great ability of saving penalty kicks, something that not all goalkeepers manage to master in their careers. In fact, Landreau stopped more than 30 penalty kicks in his 12-year career until today. Mickael Landreau made his France debut on the 3rd June 2001 against Mexico. Landreau was called up by Domenech for the 2006 World Cup, where he got the Number 1 jersey, but was still third-goalkeeper behind preferred options Barthez and Coupet. He was thus part of the squad which lost against Italy in the final, earning a runner-up medal. In his career, Landreau has won the French Ligue 1 once, in 2001 with Nantes, in the year before the Olympique Lyon dominion over the French league started, and has continued until today with 7 straight wins. Mickael won the Coupe de France twice, in 1999 against Sedan, and in 2000 against Calais. youtube:
