- Reboot the modem
- Login to the Nighthawk router.
- Go to the Advanced Settings, and then Wireless Settings.
- Here select upgrading firmware option and download latest one.
- and connect its LAN port to the WAN port of your router.
- Make sure that the connection is stable and secure.
- Now, switch on the router and connect your PC to its WiFi network.
- You will be taken to the setup page of the router.
- If the setup wizard does not open, type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press Enter.
- The wizard will then open up.

How to setup the router via Nighthawk app?
- Connect mobile with router’s WiFi network. Take note of default SSID given on the label behind the router.
- Open app, it will ask for login credentials, here fill the default credentials.
- Once you complete the login, the Nighthawk router app will search the router to pair. It automatically detects your router and shows the message ‘Router is Now Active’.
- After that answer security questions and click on the Next button. It updates available Firmware automatically.
- Now your Netgear Nighthawk app is completely set up. If you want to manage other settings, then click on the router’s image and do that.
